1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how BPrime Assets Limited (“BPrime”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the BPrime X platform (x.bprimeassets.com) and our corporate website (bprimeassets.com), (together, the “Services”), and the choices available to you regarding their use.
This Cookie Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy, which explains in greater detail how we collect, use, and protect Personal Data more generally. Capitalised terms not otherwise defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in our Privacy Policy.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently, enhance user experience, and provide information to website operators. Cookies may be “session cookies” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (which remain on your device for a set period or until deleted).
In addition to cookies, we may use related technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, and software development kits (SDKs) within our applications, which operate similarly to cookies and are collectively referred to in this Policy as “Cookies” unless otherwise specified.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use Cookies for the following broad purposes:
- To enable core functionality of the Platform, including secure login, Single Sign-On (SSO) session management, and transaction processing;
- To remember your preferences and settings between visits;
- To understand how Users interact with the Platform so that we can improve performance and usability;
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, unauthorised access, and security incidents;
- To measure the effectiveness of, and where applicable personalise, communications about our Services (subject to your consent, where required).
4. Categories of Cookies We Use
4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These Cookies are essential for the operation of the Platform and cannot be switched off. They include Cookies that enable SSO authentication across the BPrime ecosystem, maintain your logged-in session, facilitate secure payment processing through Paystack, and protect against fraudulent activity. Without these Cookies, the Services (including your ability to log in and transact) cannot function properly.
4.2 Functional Cookies
These Cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you make (such as language or display preferences) and provide enhanced, more personalised features. If you disable these Cookies, some functionality may not operate as intended.
4.3 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These Cookies collect information about how Users interact with the Platform, such as which pages are visited most frequently and whether Users encounter error messages. This information is used in aggregate to help us understand and improve Platform performance. Where analytics Cookies are non-essential, they are only set with your consent.
4.4 Security Cookies
We use Cookies to support fraud detection and prevention, bot mitigation, and account security monitoring, helping to protect your Account and the integrity of the Platform.
4.5 Third-Party Cookies
Certain features of the Services rely on Cookies set by trusted third parties, including our Payment Processor, Paystack, which may set Cookies necessary to process your transactions securely, and infrastructure or security providers engaged to protect the Platform. We do not control third-party Cookies directly; their use is governed by the relevant third party’s own cookie and privacy policies.
5. Cookie Table
The table below summarises the main categories of Cookies used on the Platform. Specific Cookie names may vary as we update our technology stack; this table will be reviewed and updated periodically.
| Category | Purpose |
| Strictly Necessary | Session authentication, SSO token management, load balancing, payment initiation and fraud prevention during checkout. |
| Functional | Remembering language, display, and notification preferences across sessions. |
| Analytics / Performance | Understanding aggregate usage patterns, error rates, and feature adoption to improve the Platform. |
| Security | Detecting suspicious login patterns, bot activity, and unauthorised access attempts. |
| Third-Party (Payment) | Enabling secure transaction processing via Paystack. |
6. Your Cookie Choices
6.1 Browser Controls
Most web browsers allow you to control Cookies through their settings, including blocking or deleting Cookies. Please note that disabling Strictly Necessary Cookies will prevent you from logging in, authenticating via SSO, or completing transactions on the Platform, as these Cookies are essential to core functionality.
6.2 Consent Management
Where required by Applicable Law, we will present a cookie consent mechanism on your first visit to the Platform, allowing you to accept or decline non-essential categories of Cookies (such as analytics Cookies). You may withdraw or update your consent at any time by adjusting your preferences through the Platform’s cookie settings, where available, or by contacting legal@bprimeassets.com.
6.3 Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” feature. As there is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to such signals, the Platform does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, though we remain committed to giving you meaningful choices over non-essential Cookies as described above.
7. Retention of Cookie Data
Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period (typically ranging from thirty (30) days for functional cookies up to twenty-four (24) months for certain security and fraud-prevention cookies) or until you delete them manually. Data collected via analytics Cookies is retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in Section 3.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified in accordance with Section 15 of our Privacy Policy.
